Maybe you are just starting to enjoy the fruits of the vine, maybe you have been enjoying wine for years and would like to know more...or maybe you feel like there is nothing left to discover that is locally available. It doesn't matter if you are just starting to explore wine or an avid enthusiast. Orlando Uncorked holds events that cater to every knowledge level! And just who is Orlando Uncorked? Orlando Uncorked is an active group of adult wine enthusiasts of all ages, wine knowledge levels and wine experiences who enjoy the company of others seeking great wine and information about great wine. The Orlando Uncorked goal: to offer affordable access to the world of wine without the often intimidating elitism associated with wine. No wine snobs allowed! Orlando Uncorked accomplishes our goal of demystifying wine by offering a full evening of fun, food, wine and wine education for $20-$30 per person, a price comparable to a few drinks and appetizers. Ultimately, as a non-profit organization, Orlando Uncorked's purpose is to attract a whole new group of adults to the wonders of life with wine. Tidbit: it's a fact that 80% of the wine consumed in the US is purchased at a grocery store or discount outlet. In the Central Florida area, we are very lucky to have countless wonderful local wine shops, along with statewide chains and nationwide chains to purchase and enjoy our wine. Orlando Uncorked understands the dilemma of: - Picking wine for informal dinner with your friends. - Perusing a wine list while dining out. - Quickly stopping to pick up wine on your way home from work. You wonder to yourself "What wine will I like?" as you stare blankly at a lengthy list or shelf of wines. Orlando Uncorked can help! Whether you want to get introduced to cutting edge varietals and boutique wineries or explore your standard favorites, we can help you pick your way through the world of wine allowing you to fully enjoy the process of wine discovery by trying and tasting. Speaking of choosing your wines.....as of July 2005, wine (39%) surpassed beer (37%) and spirits (mixed percentiles)for the first time as the popular drink of choice in America, according to the 2005 Gallop poll conducted by the Gallop Organization. Don't get us wrong, we like our beer, ales and spirits, too. We just believe there's more to life than grain, hops and distilled elixirs. Why Join Up? It's Free!
